After 2 years of blood, sweat and tears, I have an MOT booked on Monday  The engine started for the first time yesterday and it should move under it's own power on Sunday. I think it's what you would call 'cutting it fine' And for a gentle test drive, we are driving it to Scotland on Boxing Day.

That looks chuffing sweet! Good luck at the MOT.

Still waiting on the local fabricator to do the snorkel and breather tubes. He's also in the process of building the removable tow bar. Loads more to do yet, but at least I'll be able to use it
Here's a picture underneath....

WOW, that's almost too nice to use.
Only joking  I guess it's bright red so you can find it in the mud ;)

Well done steve, looks like a labour of love that one.
Bet you dont want to scratch it now  ;)
-
You can't go to Scotland on her maiden voyage Steve  Not looking all clean and shiney like that anyway. ;)

Well done Steve; and lets face it, the only thing it could fail on is if a bulb blows on the way to the MOT station.
Everything is new
Looking good.
When are the Finished pics going on the web site?
-
looks awsome mate! proper job
-
Thanks for all the comments. It has genuinely been blood sweat and tears! And nearly divorce at times

Finished???? It'll never be finished! Are they ever? There are some more pics to put on the web site. I'll sort them out 'soon'!
The latest news is......
We drove it round the yard today  So it is now wet
Drives nicely, apart from the horrible gearlever. About as precise as stirring porridge.
We did have a worrying moment when the clutch didn't seem to work. I could get gears and release the clutch without it moving.
First person to guess what it was wins a left over bolt! But let me say it was a real 'Doh!' moment  With a lot of  thrown in!

Transfer box in neutral?

Transfer box in neutral?
Indeed
So I haven't driven a proper Land Rover for 2 years..... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it
What size bolt would you like, Andy?!!
-
Well, it passed it's MOT. I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised, but it's always a tense time :D
Now I have to part with some more hard earned to our wonderful government before I can use it.
-
Next stop Scotland
Congratulations on the Re-Birth of your 90.

where you headin in scotland?
We are staying in Bothwell (south east of Glasgow) with the outlaws. Then heading up the west coast for a couple of days. Planning on driving the road from Glengarry out to Kinlock Hearn. I'm told it is one of those 'must drive' scenic roads! Not sure where we are staying overnight yet, but might either go out to Skye or along Loch Ness the next day.
Nothings fallen off the 90 yet! A few teething troubles, but nothing major :D

It looked good driving round the ring road this afternoon

Nothing fell off  The only failure was a rear light. It had a broken terminal. Poor quality product
