Title: window rubbers
Post by: karloss on November 12, 2009, 16:37:33
A friend of mine has a '53 plate disco 2, he's got new rubbers for the drivers side door glass. Does anyone know, can you change them without dismantling the whole door? I.e, can you do it without removing the door card by undoing the screws that appear to hold the top half of the door on?
Ta,

I swapped mine on a 300tdi (same sort of seal) and I took the door frame out of the door. I can't see it being possible without dismantling - too tight.

Cheers for that. Can you remove the frame without removing the door card? Or are there more bolts hidden away inside?

There's a bolt in the bottom of each side of the frame inside the door - door card off is the only way... (on a D1 that is - can't see a D2 being that much different)

taking the door card off isn't too much of a problem. Make sure you take your time removing the clips as they break easily
