hay guys is my 1987 range rover 3.5v8 efi single point fuel injection or semi sequential fuel injection. or single point per bank?
-
i would say of there the same as the 3.9 ive just picked up then it will be multi point but then again if im wrong then im sure somebody will be along to correct me
-
Banked injected, i.e. 4 injectors fire at a time, one for each bank of the V8.
If you bother looking at the inlet manifold you will see 8 injectors squirting into the cylinder head intake ports.
-
Lol i would bother looking but im in surrey and the old gal is wales. But thank you very much so she direct injection?
-
Sorry ment multipoint
-
Yes it's multipoint but not a very advanced system, it isn't sequential but as said above it fires in 2 banks, LH and RH.
-
Cheers thank you very much :)

Each injector fires individually for each cylinder - Multipoint - that's why they are as close as possable to each inlet.

Erm, nope, they are bank fired, as above, there are only 2 injector outputs from the ECU, and they ground either the left or right bank, causing all 4 to fire at the same time.

 Should have Known that as I cut those very wires when fitting the LPG. Must remember to fit thinking head before posting!

Technically it's still as multipoint system, to distinguish it from a single point system that looks a bit like a carburetor. They are designed to fire in banks LH and RH but at full throttle the injectors are alomst permenantly open anyway on the bigger engines. I think my 5.0 has a high pressure regulator to increase peak flow.
