Title: I've lost low ratio
Post by: 500bhp on April 03, 2005, 17:24:52
Help...........I went to select low ratio today and the lever just goes forward with no resistance, I can select diff lock with no problem.
I have been told its a screw on the selector come undone, and that it can be accesed by removing all the center consul and then an inspection plate. Is that correct, has anyone done this job before.............thanks for any advice in advance.

I've had it happen. It's pretty straight forward. Don't drop any bits though as you remove it. Hopefully the grub screws are still in place.
Locktight them and refit everything.

So is it done from inside the car?

I would say it's difficult from underneath.
Take the console out. some screws aren't immediately visible. Remove the rubber seal to get access to the tunnel and you can work from the top. There are 6 bolts and (I think) the breather to remove and you can then get to the offending article.
