I've got a 300tdi ES and its having window problems.
The rear windows arn't working.
I've checked the fuses...all good, loads of power
There is no power at the main rear window switches or door window switches.
The front windows work fine
I've try'd swapping the wires around on the switches but nothing.
The rear windows work if i wire directly to the battery, so its not the motor.
Does this sound like the electric window ecu?? (which i've found behind the glove box)
Any one else had the same problem?
Help!!!! I dont want to put it into Land Rovers and relieve me of hundreds of pounds

I had one of my rear windows stop working, and managed to track it down to being a faulty switch, on the master panel. even though it wouldn't work with either the front or rear switch, I found only the front switch was faulty.
I think it needs to use the front switch to supply power to the rear.
Does that make any sense so far?
If its affecting both rear windows at the same time I'd think I would have a good look at the isolation switch, which may be faulty??
Hope this helps,
Gary.

My mate had a similar problem and he said it was down to the electri windows ECU in the passenger footwell. He got a second hand replacement from Mark Smith Land Rovers for £20 and it solved it. Not sure if the 300 tdi have that ECU but Id be suprised if they didnt.
If someone knows this is complete rubbish let me know and I'll go round there and wack him with a big stick.

The 300 disco does have an electric window ECU behind the glove box (your mate was right.....put the stick down, step away from the stick!!! )
I'm watching one on ebay at the mo and he's local to me. I'll see how i get on. :?

God dam.... when will I get to use the stick

Does anyone know where the isolation switch is located??
Its definatly not the switch. i try'd swopping them around to no avail.
There is no power going there at all.
The window motor is fine too. The window was stuck down so i wired direct from the battery + - and it closed the window (i can lock it again...WOO WHO!!!!!)
:)

You see if that had been my 300tdi, I'd of used the stick to close the window
I reckon that an ECU could be a good starting point. Good luck on ebay mate. It certainly solved his anyway and if it doesnt, always good to have a spare!!!

PS i now have an ecu. will fit it this weekend. I'll let you all know how i got on! :D

the isolation switch I mentioned is the one on the main control panel which stops the 2 rear windows from working by the individual door switches ( to stop lttle fingers playing with buttons!!!!)
Gary.

Cheers Gary.
I'll check it over the weekend. :D

Job done.
It was the ECU.
I finally got round to fitting it and success!!!
Thanks for the advice guys

And there'll be no more talk of sticks....OK!!!
