Hi all, just bought a 200 TDi 3-door on a 92 plate and the passenger door isn't in great shape. Does the front door from a 5-door model fit? I don't see much. if any difference judging by photos but don't have access to a 5-door to actually measure it. Any help is appreciated.
thanks

Hi m8, 3 door disco's have a slightly larger door to allow for people to get in the rear, so the answer to your question is no, they're not the same,

Are They Really Bigger?

Opps, i might have this one wrong as i've always had the assumption that they was for the extra space needed for entry to the rear seats, scratch my first post

They are the same size, I have put 2 front doors off a 300 5 door onto my 200 3 door, had to cahnge the glass runners over as the housing is different for the mirrors
Hope that helps

I Didnt think they was Bigger

I can confirm that 3 and 5 door, doors are the same, but watch out for the windows, as they are different, well they were for me
Also the best way i found to remove the door was whip off the front wing and unbolt the hinges from the bulkhead and lift off, but watch the door weigh about 20kg

As abpve, i found it best to remove the wing, disconnect the door check strap, then close the door, unbolt it, then lift the handle while taking the weight of the door, and bobs your aunties husband,,......

yeah taking the wing off would be a good idea. i got a small hole on the inner wing to weld so can do both jobs at same time as the wing has to come off for that. then its on to the boot floor..... It isnt at all bad considering, i've seen 94/95 models in terrible condition with rot but this seems to be an exception. sills are original and the inner wings have just one small hole and where the inner arch trim clips are is a little rusty round the holes but not at all serious. Typical rear door surround rot though, im sure they modelled that area on a well known brand of cheese
