just about to fit my 2" lift to my rrc and i have noticed that the front and rear springs are the same height but the rear ones are a lot more chunky. could i put the rear ones in the front as that's where all the weight is, and there is nothing in the back.

I know you can put rears on the front, but not sure about putting fronts on the rear.

there is a lot of weight in the front compared to the back tho so i would have thought the front springs would be chunkier

but the fact that you put gear in the back or tow a trailer is the reason you have the increased poundage on the rear springs.
the fronts are designed to take the weight of the engine, maybe a winch aswell if you specified that when you purchased them.
i would put them as they are supposed to be.
fronts on the front,
rears on the rear.

i haven got anything in the back and wont be pulling a trailer but will have a heavy duty front bumper, winch, and stering guard. so would it make sence to put them the wrong way or will the back sit on the ground?

It will not sit right. I have red/white HD rear springs on the front of mine and that gives it approx 2" lift (cheap alternative to +2 springs). when used on the rear they give 1" lift. approx.
I have bearmach blues on the rear to level it up ;)
