Title: names of spinney roundy things.
Post by: muddyjames on April 09, 2009, 21:48:09
those spinney roundy things on top of vans like police dog vans etc. They have an opening either side and catch the wind on the van roofs and spin round allowing air into the inside.

any one got any ideas what they are called as in ebay I have tried air vents and roof vents in car parts but nothing comes up.

I need 1 for my new toy to kep my dog alive! Or has anyone got 1 going spare?

Oh, I think they should be called 'spinney roundy things' officially. Far more fun

The point is that I bet everyone knew exactly what you were talking about so it was a perfect description

Close: That's a spiney round thing  Think it would still look good stuck on the roof though  ;)

When I was a kid I used to call contraflows "squiggle-overs" because that's what the sign looked like  8-[
