Rights guys, Ive got my first 90. :D
he's the spec
truck cab 90. 200tdi, discovery axles. 2 inch lift old man emu, including steering damper, modular wheels, wheel spacers, not yet fitted but ashcroft hardened rear half shafts in boxs, 4 pin rear differential. safari snorkle. and those shocks from scorpion racing in boxs
Paid a grand total of £400 for it, inc all the bits and pieces i mentioned above, also came with new rad, second alternator, and twin pulley bottem pulley.
the truck is all good minus one thing.bulk head stating to go on corners, near the heater flaps.
next question i work in the trade, but was wondering how much and wheres best to source a front bulk head.?
also has anyone done a guide to give me an idea of whats involved in actually getting the bulk head out.
im new to this site.... SO A big hello :afro:

hello mate, sounds like you brought £400 of kit with a free landy! have a look in a magazine for bulkhead suppliers, off the top of my head id say craddocks or duckworths. good luck, oh and welcome to the club :D

A couple of years ago you could buy a td5 bulkhead from a main dealers for just £146+vat but not many people knew this, main suppliers like Craddocks and Paddocks, Simmonites soon found out and bought them in significant quantities for Land rover to be aware they were underpriced.
Consequently the price for a new td5 bulkhead is now in the region of £700 from the main dealers, but you can still find them at places that had plenty of stock
Simmonites are advertising them for £464.13 thats still a good price considering the work involved in making one, and its always nice to work with a brand new panel compared with a second hand one.
You can always find a good second hand one with all the bits still attached on ebay though for anything from £100 upwards, or try one of the clearout sales like Newbury this weekend.

There's a description of how I changed my bulkhead, with photos, here: http://www.mud-club.com/forum/index.php/topic,55219.0.html
The LR Centre (http://www.lrparts.net/) in Speke, Liverpool did have some TD5 bulkheads at £199 (that's where mine came from) & Paddocks did have some, but were a little more expensive.
