Hi all,
recently replaced a front caliper due to a leak and ended up replacing the pads as they were contaminated. Popped out to Halfrauds (only place open on a Sunday) and got the pads but they are a slightly different design to the one that are in there. A bit of persistant hassle at the parts desk revealed that they are for vented discs/calipers. Obviously the vented discs/calipers are thicker/wider but the contact patch is the same, only the mountings are different as are the fitting kits. I remember when I first got the disco it had these (new) pads on.
Is there any risk to using the vented pads on a non vented disc?
