Anyone know if these can be fitted easily?? I have a Clarion in the shed from a few years back and would love to install on the Disco.

Easy peasy, but be warned

i fitted my 10 disc changer, a few months down the line i blew the head unit, now all my best CD's r stuck in the bloody changer :roll:

mmh, me thinks I will nip into the local eleccy shop then and ask them. I guess there are adaptor bits to connect it into the main radio unit then

If you can afford it or be bothered to do it i recommend getting a MP3 player and pluging it into you existing radio, better quality and jump free. even off road :)

Do you mean connecting it via the cassette player?? I had one of those and it didnt last long, cant remember the make so it might have been a c**p one I guess.

if u have an ipod... ALLEGEDLY you can get an FM transmitter for it from the states where the radio picks it up

alternatively and legally

ive an alpine head unit and cd changer (located where the 7th seat should be) installed for free cos i bought it from the shop

took them all day but did a v good job in my mind

however my only concern with mp3's is that you store them on cd and i still feel they could be hit with bumps etc.. i do prefer the other type of storage where bits dont move.

pity they dont invent a head unit where u can plug usb into it and put your tracks on it

I thought the CD was installed under the drivers seat?? Wouldnt have thought about installing in the rear, mind you mine has the seats at the rear so maybe not enough room anyway...

I also find with the MP3 players that you never have the song you want to hear on the CD thats in..... and with a 6cd changer at least you can edge your bets a little

MP3 car cd radios are pretty cheap nowadays, seem a lot more stable than ordinary in car cd players, as we know the disks can hold a lot more in the way of albums, so one disk can last for ages. I managed to pick one up when they were on offer for £40 +vat from a trade place I use last year, but they are still available through certain places

Depending on the use of your vehicle depends on what you want to do with the audio side, I prefer to keep it down to one unit in the dash as such, If there is any problems you know where to look

I have seen CD changers with FM transmitters, they are legal to use in the UK if they are uk market models because of the low transmitting power.
BTW, if you CD cartridge gets stuck in the changer, there should be a manual eject mechanism (but I always burn a copy for the car anyway).

MP3 better quality than CD? think not!

I have just been into Halfords and seen a JVC with 10CD changer for £130..... So I might go for that one. I dont think it will be MP3 but who cares if it holds 10 CD's
