Title: Twin stacks on a series truck cab?
Post by: stuntman on January 21, 2009, 14:42:03
Hello one and all.

Well my series 3 rebuild is slowly progressing. I'm hoping for a solid chassis by the end of next week :) So I can start rebuilding the old girl.

My question really is this, has anyone done a 'stack' exhaust, ie comming up from under the rear load bed floor to exit by the roof?

If so, has anyone got any pictures?

Regards

Andi

Not seen one but think its a nice idea. I was told once by an MOT inspector that vertical exhausts were exempt from emissions regs?

Any idea if this is true.

I had one planned for my S3 but it died before I had a chance to make it. The plan was to use a tractor exhaust  (lots on ebay) complete with 'rain flap' which would be bolted via brackets to the roll bar. A hole in the of the passenger rear seat box would allow the tractor exhaust to be connected to the standard exhaust via a length of flexi pipe.

Very similar to the 2nd photo, I'm almost decided that I'll be running a 200tdi with a straight through exhaust, with the fuel pump slightly turned up it should give a nice smog :)

good choice sir! you have to faf about loads with the exhaust to fit it in a series anyway, (assuming is a disco 200tdi) looking forward to seeing how it goes!
