I can not think of where in North Wales that is, so I think its not. But I could be wrong.

If it's where I think, there's a slate quarry at the end of the track.

I do not think so, I can not remember every driving passed a run down house/shed like that.

There are numerous places in Mid Wales with ruined cottages like those, but the landscape doesn't look like any bits of Mid Wales I have seen. It's not dissimilar to the wilderness up around Cwmystwyth but it looks bigger and more rugged if that makes sense. I would suggest maybe Scotland?
