Pampers new advertising, 'buy pampers and we will immunise a child in Africa', immunisation is 3.5p, But supermarket own brand, save a quid and immunise 30 kids! sickening advertising gimic! Be honest with the public.
-
Ahh, but has any of that saving been given to immunisation programs?
...cos the arguments only valid if it has......
...otherwise its more likely to become 'save a quid and forget about sick kiddies overseas'. ;)

Having been there a few times and a couple of times with the intent of supporting charitable causes I'm sceptical about aid reaching where its needed in Africa especially when money is donated.
South Africa has been struggling to provide Anti-retro-virals to deal with the onset of HIV for years.
Now its available the silly ******s are smoking the drugs instead

Having visited a school in Gambia supported by well meaning charitable donations I was shown the newly built toilet block for the school.
This had been built with no attention paid to the fact the school had no running water and no connection to a sewer.
But now the toilet block was complete the old outhouse urgently needed funds to convert it to a library........
I will avoid pampers and any other brand thats offering to save Africa on my behalf because I can guess the success rate of such projects.

If you want the better option get washables; even against the supermarket brands they work out cheaper, they are better for the environment and potty training is easier.
Once sprog No.2 comes along they are stupidly cheaper as you already have them.

always sceptical about exactly how much actually goes to where its supposed to - Have you checked out Oxfam? think its something like 5% is all that goes to the charity - the rest is 'costs'
