thirsty,poor performance , very nice sound :P

bit of a heavy lump for a vitara, these trucks are light, its what makes em good, dont want to blow it out the water with a v8

might go for 1800 diesel from mk3 golf :|

A friend of mine put the later fuel injected 8v lump in his carb'd vit without too much grief. Or its the 1.9 vw or peugeot route, i think some conversion kits are available.

I'm finding the GV 2 litre petrol engine good, it even has 16 valves  not been anywhere near off road yet but on road its got a fair bit of grunt in it and its actually quite economical which is suprisingly nice  :P

Chain driven as well  ;)
