Just finished fitting an X-Brake to the 110. Monster piece of gear, very well made and fairly straight forward to fit - unless you've got anything on the PTO, then it's a bit of a pain.
My hydraulic pump sits on the back of the transfer box, and the inlet pipe to the pump is just where the X-Brake caliper lever needs to sit - but, the lever can be moved, so I moved it a couple of degrees, and all is well..........just need to find a 45deg slope to try it out :D

You can get a x-eng brake to fit on a transfer case with an overdrive fitted, surprised you haven't got that version.

that is the version, all new ones are the modified unit

Indeed it is the modded version - I had a long chat with Si from X-Eng (top bloke !), about which one to go for - and he explained that the only one they sell for Defenders now, is the modded PTO version.

I fitted an Ashcrofts Transfer box to a 110V8 at the weekend. At the same time I fitted an X-brake. The vehicle also has an O/D and there were no problems at all with fitting the brake.

Wouldn't have thought this a problem on defender as the calliper fits above the disc rather than to the left side in the case of Disco and RRC. Fitted one at the weekend was fun, Was interesting as the instruction seem to be for the original design but we manage it anyway.

Les - the inlet pipe to the hydraulic PTO pump comes across to the PTO from the o/s chassis rail, and into the top of the pump, it was the pipe getting a bit in the way, not the actual pump !

As above - the inlet pipe on the PTO pump caused a little bit of grief, but nothing serious. The caliper on mine sits over at a slight angle towards the offside, yet the instructions hint that it should sit on top of the disc......unless I put the backplate on wrong ..........I fitted the backplate with the disc guard tab parallel to the ground, I could rotate the plate anti-clockwise, and then the caliper would sit on top the disc, but then the guard tab would no longer be guarding the disc :-.

Don't think you can put it on the wrong way as the 4 bolt hole don't form a square when the guard is at the bottom the caliper sit at about 11'o'clock when you look at it. which sound as though yours is in right position.
Have a look at x_eng sight there is something about PTO's

Doesn't hold my 110 on anywhere near 45deg slope.

then adjust it!
theyre blinding bits of kit
