Title: email moving
Post by: muddyjames on November 21, 2008, 19:01:48
Hello all.

I have just got my new vista pc. By some miracle I have managed to set up a network and transfer over some files from my old xp pc with a cable that normally goes to the internet hub.

A puzzling question now.

How do I get all the emails from the old pc (I was using Mozzilla thunderbird) and all my favourites web site too?

I will read the solution when I come home on Sunday. Much faster pc though. Great.  :D

The Web site information (favorites) is easy. Just copy and paste your old favorite file from your old computer to your new one. Here's the link to where my file is stored on XP.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator

As for your email program I'm sorry but I've no idea.

Hope this helps

Mark.

Ditto but I cant stand this new version of IE with tabs. nasty nasty nasty and I have a 60 day trial of office and I used it for 30 mins and now deleted off the system. I got cross when I spent 5 minutes looking how to save the file and couldnt so lost all my work. Well, I copied it into an email and then copied it into sensible office!!!!

just to let you all know though. I didnt buy a new pc to up grade to vista, I bought it to have a pc that opened up an email from booting up in less than 15 minutes.

I still prefer XP for now but will have to make to with vista!

That is IE7 then. You get used to the tabs (i've been using them for a year now) Firefox 3 has tabs too
