We had a trip into the northern fringes of Derbyshire this morning looking for snow.Sadly the lanes I were on last Thursday have all been ploughed by the Council (or more likely local farmers)
See my pictures & posting about half-way down This Page (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=6186&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=105)
So on we went to WoodHead Pass (the A628), that was fine on the road itself.
Over Holme-Moss (A6024) as I'd heard that Radio 2 traffic reports had stated it was closed at about 08:30.
So what can you do??
On the top is the BBC radio & TV repeater for West/South Yorkshire & parts of Derbyshire.
There was someone with a VW Golf estate digging out of the BBC entrance road (I gave him a tug out)
Then about 20 yards up the drive was a FourTrack belonging (so the Golf driver said) a BBC engineer.
He'd come on Sunday(?) night to check out something & got so far & no further.
The snow was around 2foot deep around him, with the further fall.
Then to top it all there was a 7tonner stuck on the north side who'd burnt his clutch out
Aren't we blessed??

The temperature was climbing as it was around noon, must've been about 2degrees 'C'
It had probably had several snow/freeze/thaw cycles as it had been there a while.
You could see mounds around it where the snow had dropped off

   Seem a few like that before on 'Police, Camera. Action!', etc...
Still, it's not as funny as that Aussie(?) bus driver who got his arm stuck in the door & it rolled away

I know we all look the same to you Landy people, but that "Fourtrak" is a Sportrak. A sort of Defender/Freelander situation.

Sorry, I'll agree, it is
But it was damn cold up there, with the wind blowing the snow about & about to snow again, so I didn't hang about.
Sorry it was actually 200yards up the BBc's drive, not 20
The Sport-Trak is the smaller (1600cc?) vehicle with a targa-top?
Defender/Freelander?
Unlike the 2 Daihatsus they look entirely dis-similar

Sorry, I was using the defender/freelander analogy in respect of offroading ability rather than appearance.
