Actually 'on' the chassis....????? can;t seem to find one......
-
yes there is it is just next to where the steering box bolts on....i couldnt find it either until my chassis was shot blasted :)
-
Mmmmm, is it still visible once galvanised....... and the second question, do i need to worry about it.......... :-#

do i need to worry about it.......... :-#
Yes you do!
I swapped my Series 1 reg to my Disco. The DVLA had to check the S1 first. Age meant that the number was long gone/welded over. They threatened me with a Q plate (never tax exempt) unless I could prove it's identity. I spent a frantic month proving that it was correct, axle numbers, engine, gbox, etc.
In most circumstances it won't matter - just be careful if you ever need it!
-
In theory yes...... In practice how difficult would it be to grind it off, and restamp with the original?- Yes I know that wouldnt strictly be legal! maybe weld a 'repair' over it?
-
i actually thought the galv would cover it as my chassis is stamped with the numbers in little dots...when it came back from being galved it was MORE visible!
-
I'll have to see if i can see it on mine... there's quite a bit of surface rust in places, but a good shotblast and clean up will get rid of most things.......;)
-
yes it should do ;) ;)
if you cant find it pm me and i will send a pic of exactly where it should be :) ;)
