I kep seeing a series 3 stood still on a drive and doesnt move anywhere and was wondering how old it is. Is there any way of telling from a reg plate? It doesnt have a letter pre fix though. Tried looking at tax disk but it has a community support officer business card over the top so I cant see.

A VRN can give us a clue as to the age given that hopefully it is the number that it was given when new.

That should link to the vehicle checl details on the DVLA website. Type in the number and make and it'll give you date of manufacture.

It says it is sorn, year of manufactuer 1977 and first year of registration 1990. seems strange.
not tax exempt so maybe not worth thinking about. Looking at it, it has grizzly claws on in good nic, safari roof and loads of spare bits inside.

Could be an ex-military, built 1977 - released from service, bought by a civvy and first registered in 1990.

yup my series 2a has that on the v5 too james, registration and year made dont match as its ex mil too
