Hi
Hope you can help me out. I have a Vitara JLX with a 3" body lift and Calmini 3" super articulation kit with a set of 31/10.50/15 BFG Mud Terrains. This all works real well and gets me through pretty much everything.
Unfortunately I have now broken the bearing housing / joint that sits within the cups nearest to the front diff 2 times (once on each side). Not many people seem to have encountered this problem with most people having the problem with the half shaft or the CV joint breaking but my problem is the joint at the other end (the diff end). :x
This tends to happen when on rock steps when a wheel is in the air. When the wheel grips again it blows the top housing to the bearings or spits the bearings out. I don't have a locking diff or anything like that, just the freewheel hubs.
Can help anyone help me out

Hi Mate, i have a set of lowering brackets from Bits4 Vits which are surplas to requirements as i had the same problem, i have now gone with a live axle conversion so they are not needed now, they are practially brand new with hardly a mark on them, make me an offer and i am happy to post them to you providing you pay the postage.

Thanks to both of you for your ideas on this..... but, the Calmini kit I have fitted already has the lowering brackets and drops the diff by an inch so this shouldn't be an issue. As I said it's not the shafts or the CV thats going pop, its the bearings / housing at the end. I think a stronger set of bearings may do it but I don't know if thats something that anyone has heard of.
Any ideas....???
