Title: Lt 77
Post by: Banjo on October 25, 2008, 14:35:37
I have a problem when shifting from fourth to third, sometime it's fine other times it just seems to baulk up, it gets worse when it's warm. I know they recommend ATF but has anyone tried a different grade when the box gets a bit worn.

I changed my gear box oil twice over three months to flush it through then added a slick 50 type addative to the new oil it's made a big difference.

1st to 2nd is now much smoother

Thanks lee, I will give that a try. It seems a good box other than that.

Changed the oil yesterday , it looked like it was mixed with water, the magnet was not too bad,  but the filter was almost blocked , gave it a good clean and filled it with fresh oil . Took it for a good run and it seems much better, will do the same in a couple of weeks.

Good, that's encouraging to hear.  Might even try that with mine, one day :-k
