Title: Pants parts

Just as I was beginnning to forget what it looked like, Mrs Blues TDi came back form the bodyshop, in shiny shiny red.

Did a few jobs for the MOT, a few bits have stopped working, a few bits have corroded, you know.

Also decided to fit a lift pump I'd bought a while back when I started having toruble with biojunk.

Anyway, it's dripping diesel from the botttom :evil:

so tomorrow it's getting swapped back.

Why can't brand new bits just work like they should, why do you always have to check to make sure you didn't buy the duff one :evil:

Simple; they are only interested in profit and don't care about quality.

You could pay the extra for the same factory to put it in a box with a Land Rover Logo on it then pay loads more for the same thing.

Yep i agree, its a shame that things are getting so bad :(

It seems that parts are designed to last only as long as the warranty, these days :(

it's annoying, I always buy genuine L.R. when i can and to date have been happyish, i brought a non genuine radiator fitted it and it leaked! went back a swapped it for a genuine rad. and have had no problems since.... cost me £80 more though and they told me it was made in the same place. however i brought genuine L.R. anti roll bar links and they have been on just over a year and have started to clunk again  :evil: when i went back they were a month out of warranty  :evil: :evil:

since then have been trying diffrent manufactures Brit part are crap, had a brake rebuild kit off them and the fit was so bad ended up using the original seals, not sure about bearmach had some of there swivel housing grease and found it too thick so you could not determine weather it was at the right fill level or not, genuine L.R. grease would settle down to give you a level. the only other suppler i have used is Shop4Autoparts for a front brake rebuild kit which seemed reasonable.

If i was making replacement parts they would be Superior to original parts as you could see why the part had failed and improve on it...... i know its all about money!
