Hi,

I don't know about the front but i put a rear one on my old girl because i wanted disc brakes after fitting a TDI and that was quite straightforward

Are you sure it was a D2 axle that you fitted? They have a Watts link on the rear axle....

...which has kind of answered the original question. :)

Can be done but the chassis mounts are different, both for the radius arms and the Watts link on the rear. (effectively replacing A-frame setup).

@MudRat....if I may ask....what is it that you are trying to achieve? :)

Lee, you can fit Disco 1 rear axel or RRC rear axel (not old RRC Pre 86 IIRC) as the shock mounts are different) Easy job to do, just try to get the year of the axel as some of the bearings are different (just helps for future repairs)

done that before, just thought disco 2 might be a goer.

sorry i miss read your post. I thought it read "fit 2 disco axles" not disco 2 axles. if that makes any sence?

Talking of bearings, they are about £235 a corner for the DII and about £16 a corner for RRC.  Which one would you fit?
