				Hi, I am thinking of getting a TD5 next year but would like to convert it to an auto, I already have a 4 speed box from a range rover classic what else will I need and is it difficult to do? cheers.  Ben

				correct me if i am wrong but i think you need a td5 auto box from a disco 2, i don't think the classic box will fit.

				You'll find the box sits a long way back, you'll need different props.

				hi. if you look on the ashcroft transmission site all the info you need to auto a manual td5 is there.the problem is the td5 auto box is ecu controlled but all is not lost as ashcroft do a conversion but its not cheep.

				I think it is a 4HP22EH auto box you will need. This has it's own ECU, which allows you to use a 2-way rocker switch to change up and down gears.

				If you don't want expense electronics you can convert a Disco ZF TD5 autobox back to hydraulic operation. Dave at Ashcrofts can supply all the parts for this.

				I have a TDi auto 90 nice and ecu free.......  Standard props etc.
