Title: Another Jimny Tyre Question!
Post by: BigSi on August 31, 2008, 00:56:03
Will 215/75 R15 Insa Turbo Sahara tyre's fit on the standard 15x5.5 steel rims, and fit a bog standard Jimny with out any problems? Or is it better to go with the standard 205/70 R15 tyre?

They should be OK on the rims, but may need a bit of body trimming to avoid rubbing.

Which part of the body (and how) would need trimming?

boom out the angle grinder!!
might not come to that though, i had to take the front corner bumperettes and the front mudguard brackets off my sportrak to fit some 235/75/r15 to it. the back was fine, but without a suspension lift it lacks bounce over the bumps!
the only way you'll know is to fit them,(if poss) and take bits off where needed.

Typically its the wheelarch extensions, most people cut the final lip off (the bit where the edge goes vertical again)

Anybody got any pic's?

Just seen a pic (eBay) of a standard Jimny with 215/75 R15’s on, and there wasn’t much room under the arch!!!!
