What i'm gonna do to mine, is put the rear box in the centre, and then make a tail pipe that exits through the rear quarter........

did think of that on blue. done the side exit but just the rest to do ...
-
Took mine out then changed the front pipe to a non cat one, middle box will be going back in cos its sounds like a tractor with a knackered exhaust now, tho' it does sound good on tickover.
Centre box is straight through anyway so shouldn't zap that much power.
-
could call challenger 4x4 01252 325930 they have um in stock and not a million mailes away from you :D
-
Thanks for responses guys, just ordered from MM4x4. So now have Cat removed, mid box soon, just leave the rear on, hope it make a difference as they say for the turbo etc. and sound good toooooooo.
Just wish it was a V8, miss the power............ :(
-
Should be able to recycle the cat and get some money back to help you
-
Did the cat etc about a 2 months ago, was com;etely shot to bits
-
david that link is for a 200 not a 300.

does it really sound that bad , have made a start to do mine .alan...
-
Mine didn't with the pump wound up quite a bit, backed it off now though... bit more economical
Sounds just a little more purposeful than standard, wouldn't say agricultural though
-
i have a free flow silencer roughly the size of a carton of juice? all SS and sounds very very nice! but it does grow tedious as i have no windows on the cab of my disco and if i rev it past 2k it deffens me!been meaning to post a video of it up.
my dad has the same problem with his side exit, its not to bad if your in the front seats but if your in the back there is this drone and it wares a little thin....
-
OK, ordered replacement centre pipe, but still not here
Does it make that much difference to the noise levels in the back then? have the kids to consider, have read some where it does make it sound better, did not realise it could sound like a tractor
-
it might drown the noise out from the kids ?. not a bad thing iff there like mine . ;)
-
it wont sound like a tractor.....just like a very fruity TDI if its anything like mine!
should be fine if its comeing out the back.

now thats good thinking, gonna put SWMBO in back too, drown out there screams as i drive the Disco to extreme, If i ever get chance to take it off road ](*,)
-
iff you get yours done first let me know what it sounds like. because ive got a side exit exhaust i did awa\y with the tail pipe. so to loose the front silencer im sure would be too noisey . cat removed too. so ive started to fabricate the rear silencer to the ctr section iff you get me . dont want it too noisey but to be honest it might be 1 back on the neighbours ;)
-
well been let down by supplier for this so cancelled order . Any one suggest alternative suppliers, dont want to mention current supplier.
-
pretty sure paddocks do them and possibly cradocks
-
first video from photobucket so i hope it works
that was probibly only revved up to no more than 3000rpm

neat boss :D :D
-
yeeeeeeees does sound rather neat doesnt it. its a 2"(maby 2" and a bit i never measured) bore cat pipe from devon 4x4, pretty swish and did me a good deal too and the rest of it is my dads old d44 side exit(he killed the centre box), i had to chop it around a bit to make it come out of the side where it did. but all in all its pretty damn good. sounds better than the yankie v8s that live over the road anyway

thats a yankie thing cornering against a tree or a small frog screaming
-
well done mine today had a little time to spare fixed me diff lock which i though was a bad connection . turned out to be a bent linkage . then me exhaust . any way yep it sounds like a tractor, but a cool one ...
-
Well, this must be a recent fad...... just basically done mine this eve, fitted a decat front pipe a few nights ago, which improved throttle response....... this eve i cut up a brand new centre and rear section...!!! i cut out the centre box, and welded the rear box in it's place with a small piece of pipe to make up the difference, and have currently got the rear section cut off just behind the rear hanger, i'm now in the process of trying to get the pipe to exit the rear quarter just in front of the bumper..... well, thats the plan!! it sounds great, can;t wait to see how it sounds on the road!!!
-
sounds even better on the road ,why do i get this idea landy owners are like big kids and never grow up . well me all over anyway
-
my centre box is showing signs of needing replacement, to be honest my entire exhaust system isn't in a great shape. What's the deal with the MOT when removing the cat and centre silencer ?
DT.

diesels dont need a cat, unless over a certan age.
