Title: tachometer doesn't move and battery warning light on

possible loose connection? is it a cable feed or electronic?
nothing in particular triggered it just driving on town road looked down and noticed
the battery warning on and tachometer not moving.

it is either the alternator knackered most likly the brush pack has collapsed or seized in and worn the brushes so they dont make contact (usually due to lots of mud), your alternator belt broken, or a loose connection to the back of the alternator

Did you manage to find out what was wrong???
The reason I ask is that the same thing has happened to me this morning :(

Havent had a chance to lift the bonnet yet...but bit worried as I am towing the caravan to France on Sunday :shock:

yea the belt was sheered to [!Expletive Deleted!]. got a new one back on and all is well :)
