Hi, when i had my 413 i put a niki carb on it and it went like the absolute clappers. I could over take other 413's when they were at full chat. I know it sounds hard to believe but it is true. Also a friend of mine has a carb'd 8 valve vitara engine in his sj, it looks like a fairly easy swap as im fairly sure you can use your exsisting gearbox if you drill an extra hole in it to bolt it up! I have a weber carb on my sammy, does 85 by my GPS... did 60 before on the original carb. It gets a bit scary at that speed though!

yeah, the whole car got a wobble on it... should have had the tyres pumped up harder really but i wasnt out for the SJ land speed record, just trying to get home from viewing a jimny in a rush in torrential downpour, not a fan of taking the sammy on the motorway at the best of times! speedo only read 70, just noticed the corner of the GPS which said 84mph..! I have 29" tyres so it is overgeared a little with them.
