Was intrested myself till i clocked the price :shock: For that money i would want it silent as in could watch the tv at the same time :lol: Depending on ya requirements could you not buy a very good quality "normal"one and build a insulated enclosure for it :-k reckon it would still come in under budget :)
But to answer your question No idea :lol:

not sure about that particular brand but the various ones ive come across have been very quiet. well, when i say that i mean if there was somthing else going on (hammering, swearing, etc) you wouldnt hear it. Think of the noise of the leccy motor + a tiny bit more and you are somwhere near.

That's what I'd heard (if you pardon the pun :roll:). However, most 'silent' compressors are way in excess of £1000. There are enclosed silenced ones at the lower end of the £1000-£2000 range. Then there are the screw type at several thousand pounds.
So the Clarke one is actually very cheap. I suspect it's life might reflect this.
We need a compressor for our CNC mill that's just been installed. And noise is an issue since we run a shop at the front of our unit. oh, and hearing the phones is quite useful too!

yeah bang a clarke one in, keep the reciept. wont damage the machine if it fails on yer.
They dont need so much pressure either.

Well, we've pretty much decided to give one a go. So if the Norwich branch has one in stock, we'll pick it up Monday.

I have seen simular to this and the noise is more like a fridge running just a purr think there is a clunk when it starts and stops but that all.

Done a bit more reseach and the 'silenced' ones tend to run around 60dB at 4 metres which is pretty good. It seems the Clarke one is around 40dB :shock: That's seriously quiet as you suggest. I'll let you know once we have it installed.
