Title: Removing indicator relay - HELP!
Post by: LiftedDisco on July 01, 2008, 14:19:53
Hi all... need to remove the indicator relay on a '96 300 Tdi.... that's it, it's the fiddly thing best accessed from the driver's door.

However - it appears to have clips top and bottom that hold it in place... so spent an interesting time last night pushing the clips open with fingers, only to find that I then had no purchase on said box of tricks to prise it out...

The tried two hands - one to release the clips, one to get hold of the flasher relay - no room in there for two sets of digits, so that was a pretty poor idea too then...  ](*,)

 :-k

Is there a tried and tested way of getting this slippery little sucker out of there?

Many thanks...

I replaced mne thus

1) purchase of new relay
2) spend 10 minutes wiggling an jiggling the plug off bottom of old relay
3) fit power plug to new relay and leave dangling for ease of replacement next time
4) schedual removal of old relay for the very next time the entire facia needs to be removed.  I havent done that yet so its still there and the extra weight of the new relay has no effect of fuel consumption or handling.

:D
