Title: Help with war film title
Post by: diggerdog36 on June 05, 2008, 21:22:50: I saw an advert for a new war fild (WW2) im sure it was one word beginning with D, like Downfall, but it wanst that.
On the picture there was a SS officer ????

"Days of Glory" is being released on dvd next month.
It's a WWII film seen through the eyes of four soldiers.
Not sure what's on front cover though :undecided:

there,s also the point of view that if he had succeeded in killing hitler then the third reich would have had people running it who knew what they were doing and the war would have been very different in its outcome :?

That is very true, which apparently why the Allied High Command never sanctioned an assasination.

I went to stay with a good friend of mine in France, whose father had been in the Resistance. A very brave man, but slightly jaded. His words were "if all those who stood up at the end of the war to collect the medals, had actually done something, then the Resistance would have run the Germans out, long before 1944". Put simply, there weren't as many as they first thought.
It raises an interesting thought. If the UK had been invaded, how many of the population would have a) Resisted,
b) Collaborated, c) Carried on as normal.
