Title: what diesel engine in vitara

hi there,thinking of buying a 1997 lwb turbo diesel vitara manual.what engine is fitted to these,is it the peugeot xu engine,i havent been to see it yet,but would help if i new what i was looking at,and if not what is fitted and any probs.

Have heard of some having Pug engines... majority are a mazda engine me thinks. :?
