Title: Td5 rear air suspension question
Post by: skunky on May 02, 2008, 20:58:42
Hi have replaced both airbags as thought they might be leaking, now no air in bags and will not fill up.

Compressor will not run, is this governed by any ecu or sensors, mate has a nanacom will this pick up any faults, no lights on dash showing errors, any ideas or things i should be checking.

Cheers Paul

is it only since fitting the new bags that the compressor wont run?
The compresor is controled buy the SLABS ecu. The ecu takes reading from the two sensors at the rear. one either side (looks like an Lshaped arm) the compressor then inflates the bags to achieve the pre determined height. Nanocom may have fault codes logged depending on what the faults are, but normaly the dash light would be iluminated.
Check the Fuse and the relay, Then check the plugs at the compresor and each sensor

not sure what the problem is but lets say it costs £30 to get it diagnosed and a further £50 minimum to solve the problem.

For around £100 you could fit springs which do not alter the handling and you could then sell the airbags, compressor etc on ebay and possibly get your money back.

I did just that , got £70 for compressor and £25 for airbags so a fiver for the conversion seems a good deal.
