Anyone know of anywhere I can let the kids have a drive of my Defender ? Looking for a disused airfield or wide - flat area so they can't hit anything or give me a heart attack
It's only for low - speed gentle stuff. Heard Melton Mowbray airfield where the sunday markets are/were held could be suitable.
Anyone know anything ?
Cheers

Not sure where you are or doing this weekend mate but the Buxton landrover club has an event this weekend inone of the local quarries so they would be able to drive?. Have a look at thier website. BADLRC.

Thanks for the replies
Put up a question about the BADLRC event 'cos I was thinking of going on Monday. Want a flat tarmac or concrete surface for the kids - & additional drivers are £10 @ Hartington.
Kieran - do you have any more information on the location of the Newark airfield ?
Any more folks ?

Bear in mind that you would need to be on Private land with no access for members of the public.
That rules out Asda, Caravan sites, in fact the majority of places else, as a member of the public you shouldn't be there.
Which is how they can "do" someone for attending cruising events on local retail parks.

Try Langar airfield mate, thats where i learnt!
-
Funny - a member of my family just mentioned Langar. How long ago did you drive on there ?
Ed - thanks for the advice. Presumably they can only 'do' cruisers when the retail units are closed for business tho' ? Heard about all the events with the cruisers.
