4 tyres @ £100 = £400  x 25% = £100 discount

2 tyres @ £100 = £200 x 15% = £30 discount
2 tyres @ £100 = £ 200 x 15% = £30 discount  Therefore total discount on 2 x sets of 2 = £60

1st day i took it there they said they couldn't do it, but then they told me to bring it back 2 days l8r as there was a guy there that could do it.... anyway this guy that did boasted about being the only one that could do it etc, then he decided to try and turn my drag link with a pipe wrench, kept quiet for a while then decided to tell him he was doing it wrong... so he started on the track rod, few mins l8r hes got the pipe wrench on that? then a blow torch on the joints? then he puts a bar on the wrench, then the thing bends.  when i looked at it, he'd shaven so much metel off with the pipe bender, thats where it bent. still no idea how he did it, was free as a bird when i got it back to mine on the back of an aa lorry

QuickFit St Albans btw, dont go there!!!

Don't use them for tyres on my Disco (Craddocks usually) but I have to admit the guy that manages the Brownhills Kwikfit (Pappi) is sound. I'd got some crud in the bead of my tyre, causing it to 'air down' over about half a day - he popped it off the rim, cleaned it and put it back on with the "magic soap" .......... sound as a pound!

And he did it free (maybe cos I buy my company car tyres off him) but he's a good lad :D

ATS aren't much better in my experience. Our local one managed to completely wreck my steering while replacing a track rod end. Took it back, they claimed to have fixed it but it was still wrong. Ended up having to take it to the main dealer to get it sorted out as they'd managed to get the steering box off centre and completely foul up the tracking. The main dealer also spotted corroded brake disks that ATS had assured us were "fine"!

I didn't quite understand how on earth they managed to do it. If I was replacing one end on a moving rod then I would take it off, measure it, fit the new part, set it to exactly the same length and refit without moving anything else. Get the impression that Land Rover steering was a little bit too complex for those used to mouldy Astras...

They are all pretty bad unless you can get them "trained".  I try not to let anyone touch my cars now other than the local service station (Wainright's) or my mate who is an MOT tester.  I got sickof paying someone to screw things up that I had to put right myself

Mine now goes to the local independent specialist, who never has any such problems. He also manages to get it through the MOT emissions stuff first time which ATS never managed. I've not dared ask what he does!

My Dad and Brother own a garage and when the local Kwik fit or ATS come across a problem, or cause one, like broken manifold stud that their Muppets can't fix they sent them round!

If it's straight forward they have no problems. Slightest hiccup and they are stuffed, so a Landie is their worst knightmare!
