Title: extending the hi low gear stick.
Post by: clover on March 31, 2008, 10:15:20
Right I've finally had enough.

Got to do something about the hi low diff lock gear stick on Pinky.

I need to extend it in length by 2".

Basically since I did the body lift you can only get it in Hi diff lock if you take the gaiter off it. I have noticed that on a motorway journey you get all kind of unpleasant fumes into the cabin as a result.

If I had access to a lather I could turn something up in no time at all. Get a piece of bar drill and tap a hole in the end. Turn it round the other way and cut down to the required diameter and run a die down it to cut the required thread...

Trouble is I've not got access to a lathe.

Anybody got any suggestions? I don't know any local engineering firms that would do a small on off job like this.

Cheers

John

think you want an extension nut:

that and a short length of threaded bar should do you!
