Title: mud-club ate my paint
Post by: muddymesser on March 21, 2008, 21:23:39
well biggest splat sticker they sell did

it took the top coat of paint off my bonnet showing the primer so a trip to halfords was in order for some metalic redy/orange paint . . . they had none so i spotted some matt black rattel cans so i got it ready and painted it mostly in a dark and wet awning with only a awning light

so what do you guys think (the water marks are after the awning leaked after it dried)

Just a note to all ;-)

I've had all manner of vinyl stickers on my vehicles (including the SC) ... they don't remove the paint if it's on ok ;-)

In fact Piglet's had all his removed and he was very shiny  :-#

removed all my stickers last week, and they had been on for a fair while, l had loads on from different forums, and not one took me paint off. I used a hair dryer and took them off that way, slow and painful but no paint loss.

the full car was resprayed in the metalic orangey red by the previous owner i think the bonnet they ran out of paint as it wasnt very thick and there was a coat of the same colour under the primer that was flawed aswell so i think that the primer wasnt smoothed down of wiped down before the top coats by the look of it

the bonnet is fine now with the black
