Dont forget the Neon lights...
-
shhhhhhhhhhhhh :-$ :-$ :-$ ,im takin the neons of my clio & putting them on the 90,btw it will have NO burrberry carpet inside, just black shagpile
-
8) NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE.
The next job is fitting ultra low profile tyres onto 20" rims and lower, YES lower vehicle as much as possible, only joking m8.
-
thats true apart from the lowering bit,my mates got rangie 19's on his 90,looks the part, was thinking 20's in black chrome with a candy apple grren paintjob
-
:D candy apple grren paintjob
:D Nice colour, esspecially in a flip/pearl effect.
Are you serious about 19s on a 90?..
-
:D A freind of mine and DPGs had DPG spray his f reg Rangie in a Black pearl flip, from one angle it looked very black then as you moved it changed to deep red almost crimson then a deep green/gold colour. Really weird to look at but very good affect. :D
-
id like to fit them when ive got the spare cash, ill take a pic o my mates 90 with them onit & post it here for all to seee
-
:D Yeah, this ive got to see. I take it he doesnt use it offroad then?. or does he
-
hes got a bowler,2 90's,3rd generation rangie with EVERYTHING,his son has a bowler,a 300tdi 110 & i think hes building a diesel bowler & a 90
-
 WOW :!: Just a phew toys then. Bowler now your talkin, ide love one or an Ibex. Need to win lottery first though....
-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4514925687&fromMakeTrack=true

8) Thats a good price for one of them.
Talking of modded motors have seen my thread below about the overfinch 580s rangie, now this is a blinged up motor. I ts the only one in the country so he says and itll do 185mph. Cant wait to go back and get some piccys of it. Hes doing the Gumball Rally in it.
Finnaly got some pics of the Rangie.
O.h and heres his mates Rangie and Subaru.... =P~
-
was lookin at that post,is that the guy who spends so much £ with overfinch he got a good price on that all singing & dancing 1?
-
:D Yep thats him, apparently he spends about £250.000 a year at a dealer, new 4x4s for his wife and family ( keeps them for a year then sells them ). His last Range Rover he got before this 580s kept going back with wireing faults gearbox faults etc, so to keep him happy they gave him this beauty. T he piccy on the thread is the same model as his but his is in a Black mettalic with special black Overfinch oval badges and embossed leather interior. Me jealous NAHHHH!...
-
btw,u still thinkin bout doin rtv's?
-
Which lights are you thinking of? I've got the crystal ones on the 90. Didn't pay that sort of money tho' Can get the angel rings much cheaper too. Going to the shop in a week or so if you want some.
-
if you culd get me a price for the angel 1's & the crystal's id be well chuffed
-
:D OH yes, i forgot to ask you about that, ide like to do one to see if my Rangie would be any good. I think an rtv event woud be a good way of trying it out first as its not suposed to be competative. Its just some thing ide like to try ever since watching a trial event a phew years ago at Trentham Gardens near stoke. But a lot of the vehicles were very tricked up hybrids and even little Suzuki sjs did well, thats why i think my rangie would be too big. ( not got a good turning circle for tight turns etc. ) :?
:D One good thing about the Rangie is the fact its been bobtailed at the rear and the front has been shortened, but still retains a 100" wheel base. Approach and departure angles are excellant.
-
not really,im guessing cos ur rangies is bobbed u will b playin with a non arc club, this should put u in the same class as othere bobbed rangies,in an rtv situation u shouldnt be up against specials & sjs unless u start doing competition trials which need a roll cage etc,

It has a fully weldedin interior cage ( goes right through to chassis crossmembers front/side and rear ) but its not arc or fia approved ( homemade ).Ill look around for a local club that does trials and go and have a look before joining. :D

Think Buxton & District do RTV - been considering it myself :D
-
i belive, doin trials/rtv's & comps has made me a better driver, but thats just mho,all you need as the basics for rtv's is an extra throttle return spring, everything either removed from inside or securly held down & reasonable front & rear recovery points
-
:D Evening Andy, yes its just something ive always wanted to do, thats why i like Whitworth Quarry so much, its a good place to practise etc.
Ill have a look at Buxton and Districts website tomorrow and see when theyve got a trial event on, ill go down and watch at first. :D

:D Thats my way of thinking, as for the Rangie shes ready prepped for this sort of thing as DPG my who built her had this in mind but kept some luxcories for everyday use as well as greenlaneing. I look into a second throttle return spring though and get one fitted. When trialing ill take everything out and remove the roof rack/spare etc..
Also locally is a large quarry run by a club?, its only a tenner for a days play and has loads of tricky obstacles to have a go at, i think they hold national trial comps and comp saffaris there as well.
But like Andy said ide better join a club and do it properly. :D
-
..going back to the shiny door handles; I got 'dem in HL!
-
..going back to the shiny door handles; I got 'dem in HL!
 Bling.. Bling.. :D
 I might be getting ahead of myself but the only bling i want is a couple of trophys before i pop my clogs, ( never won anything before ).
Nice to dream though...... :D
-
chav
i went light weight, dnt have door handles
-
:D Andy i was thinking of joining Buxton and Dist this year but it will have to be after May as im going ( saveing for ) to wales camping/greenlaneing and im a bit strapped for cash at the mo, been paying all my debts of recently bank/creditcard etc. So ive not got much left for anything else as yet. Ill let you know when im thinking of joining them or poping down to watch a trial comp. :D
-
I was thinking of joining at the playday in May :D Dont know if mine will be back on road by then as it needs 100quid just for the front end parts, then labour for the bits I cant/wont attempt, couple of front tyres, tax, insurance, MOT - the list goes on   Considering selling it as it is, and trying to persuade SWMBO into trading in the Focus for a Bus or Rangie :D

:( Yep thats whats happened to me the last month or so tax,ins bills etc, it all mounts up, and now im trying to pay it back so ive got money to spend in the next 2 or 3 months.
As for selling the Landy, without any tax or mot you wont get much for it, and if you do sell it SWMBO does let you get a Rangie youll be starting over again mods etc. How bad is the Landy and how much work is required for mot.
Saying that though you could pick up an early 4 door rangie for around £400.00 with a bit of an mot and tax, but at this price it will probrbly need welding etc etc..
-
 SSSSSSHHHHH! You could always go for a Suzuki sj, cheap and cheerful and very capable offroad with minor mods. Just a thought. Ill get me coat. :(
I wish i was a mechanic at least then i could give you a hand getting her back on the road DPGs the cheif mechanic amongst us lot, i just tinker with bits i know about like yourself, let me know whats needs doing i might be able to help and now the rangies taxed i could pop down with my tools etc. Im sure between us we can her back on the road with some knowledge from DPG and the rest of the lads i know. :D
-
Just a thought. Ill get me coat.
u away ?
-
Definate for MOT is dumb irons, track rod ends, so would probably renew track rod and drag link aswell. Needs new engine but could get this one through MOT. Got spare set of road wheels with tyres on but they are poo off-road. If I traded in the Focus I'd probably be looking at a Disco on a 96 or 97 plate
-

u away ?
   I was waiting for that..
-
last time i used that line,it was " go get ur coat, uve pulled"
-
DPG said he'd take a look the other week, but then I bust me ribs, I need to phone him when I've got the money together for the bits and get it down to his garage

You see this is what i mean i dont know what dumb irons are and as for the track rod ends i did my Rangie ones not long ago and had to resort to useing burning gear to heat them up before they unscrewd, i wonder if good second hand ones will do, or have you already looked into this. Ill have a word DPG the only problem is i no longer rent space of him now in his garrage ( thats how bad the money situation is ) so he might think it a bit cheeky if i turn up with your link and track rod bits so can fit new track rod ends etc. How bad is the enginge smoke is it an mot failure do you think.
If you can ide for the Disco, just depends what SWMBO thinks. :(
Wish i could help you out mate.

Thats the best way to do it, hes got the tools and knowledge, just hang in there for now. I know how frustrateing it is..... :(
Do you remember Andy and Paul in there Landys, well they still rent space of DPG and Andy is very knowledgeable when it comes to older Landys as hes owned and rebuilt quite a phew in the past.If hes there when you bring yours down hell proberbly help you out. :D
-
£ 29 for the crytstal £39 for the angels. Crystal come with the side lights, bulbs and blue side light covers. Angels come with bulbs and different coloured covers for the sidelight bulbs.
-
just sent u a pm askin that
-
Just a thought. Ill get me coat.
u away ?
 I think i got it from The Fast Show, early series.
But saying that i wont hear a bad word about Suzuki sjs after owning a good one i know how good they can be offroad in the right situations.
Just lowsy on road, thats why i got rid and bought the Rangie of DPG. :D
-
my mates got a sj & its fairly capable from what ive seen, plannin on taking him propper offroading, less o this blasting round a bing
-
Silly thought just crossed my mind - shall I persuade DPG to part with his Disco when its done
-
worth a go from what ive seen on here
-
:D Mine only had a 2" lift kit fitted and decent set of Diamond Backs plus an su carb conversion. And it beat my Rangie when DPG had it esspecially in the mud and in tight situations 9 very light compared to Rangie ). But not very good for side slopes etc, and when greenlaneing it would not sit the ruts properly as other 4x4s are wider tracked, so Suzuki kept jumping out of the ruts every now and again. Good on play sites climb anything with su fitted. :D
-
what do u think o they crystal lights,i was only gonna get them cos the angel eyes look kool, btw do u have the latest LROI (march)
-

Youde be lucky... but you never know.

Mike - the Dumb Irons are the front chassis legs that the leaf spring attaches too. The old ones have been plated and at Whitworth on Boxing Day the ice breaking didnt do them any favours, so they need cutting off and new ones welding on, was going to replace the track rod and ends and drag link aswell as they probably suffered damage causing the front tyres to scrub

 AARRGGHH!! i see what you mean now, are you getting replacement ones or just have them replated ( welded up ) again.
Yep definatley needs to be at the garrage for that one, up on the ramp job for that one. Whats the rear cross member like and rear hangers are they o,k. Can be a [!Expletive Deleted!] sometimes just getting the bolts out of the leaf springs, especially if there std bushes ( tend to weld themselfs to the bolt ).Nothing to worry about DPG would soon have them out.For a bit of a lift you could always fit Milatary hangers that are fitted as std on Lightweights, thatll give you an instant 1" to 1"1/2 lift, just a thought.
-
Had new rear crossmember 2 years ago, along with new LWB spring hangers, rest of chassis is in good nick as the MOD preserve them pretty well  Gonna go for new ones (better be safe than sorry). I re-timed the engine to cure black smoke so should get another 12 months out of it, but its not doing it any good being stood on drive and only being fired up every couple of days
-
Thought about military hangers and its still on the list for sometime in the future. Not got too bad a lift with the LWB hangers and the 750 tyres
