out in the disco this morning and the engine died at the worst possible moment. managed to coast far enough to get off the busy road, lifted the bonnet to investigate and found something with small sharp teeth has been eating my lead between coil and distributor. i am assuming it's mice. any ideas how i can stop them. the cat keeps jumping out when i move.(joking).

Im not going to ask why you had dead bodies in your motor, i presume it coincides with the tank gaurds and wizard lol  :P

Worked for a jaguar dealer a whilst back - A guy brought his V8 s type in for allsorts of problems ( lights and rough running ect ) Lifted the bonnet and found a mouse nest in the engine bay  and had chomped through a bunch of wiring, Therfore not covered under warranty  But after a complete new loom  and a suitable bill , He was actually quite happy as apparantly he had a few nice pieces of art/paintings stored in there and did not want them to have a similar experience

had to get her a new one! - Why buy a new mouse? squish the little s*d

glad to see i'm not the only one the mice are picking on. placed 2 traps but nothing yet. :-k

soak some grain or musley in hydraulic oil and leave it in a spraycan lid.....cheaper and more effective than the poison......as for air rifles, a 12bore or a 243 is more intresting

Problem with poisoning them is that they'll invariably crawl off to somewhere they feel safe. Which is usually deep inside the walls or behind your dashboard. You won't know about this until the whiff of dead mouse begins to assail your nostrils...
Standard mouse traps are much better. Always felt them to be more humane too - instant rather than taking hours to work.

Poisen them
