who has them and where are they situated top or botom? are they worth the money and do they make the difference?
im thinking about purchasing a set so i can get that extra bit of articulation i have pro comp extreme shox with 11" of travel so shud disclocate nicely
ive been advised to fic them on the bottom as thats the better way to disclocate the springs not the top is this true and does anyone have any pics?
these are the ones ive seen

and these lil puppies to give me a lil more travel at the front
and some extra strength

I have coones on the tops, mine seems to have that much travel that i can still dislocate the springs PAST the cone....
So i used some old seat belts to make up some straps to hopefully stop it happening!!
I like the idea of the ones on the springs, cos the springs should relocate on it's own, where-as if mine dislocate past the cone, the spring totally misses the cone on the way back down!!

what like this?

I have a mate with those, they would drive me totally nuts, the little spring is almost too strong, and the little one just moves intead of the big spring..... and due to the fact that it end up not coming out of the cone straight, the squeeks are terrible.....!!! mind you, my mates is a 90 truck cab, so very light.....
-
are they a pain to fit?
-
I fancy a set of those TBH, but I think I'll have to wait another year.
-
yeah,but £130.00 an axle?stick with cones!!!
-
Or RE-location cones ;-)
Surely a DISlocation cone would actively force the spring off it ;-) Not help it back on ....
-
I wouldn't bother with the front, I have them front and back and can't get the front anywhere near dislocating. The backs are worth while, even if the spring comes completely off the cone it will push it back on.

Same here.

Both top and bottom relocation cones work well, though there are some designs that work better than others and some like these below with relativerly straight sides which are best avoided like the plage if you springs are going to dislocate by more than a few inchs. If a spring comes right off the end it have no chance of relocating it and can resulting springs being force sideways in to tyres.

If you can fabricate (or know a friend that can) them bottom relocation cones are very easy to make by just welding a few short lengths of bar to the bottom spring seat and making a clamp for the top of the spring to the chassis. When making mine I spent more time watching paint dry.
As for lowered front turrets, these DO NOT increase the range of travel, only move the travel range further down. The benefit of this is with lift springs and relativerly short dampers as moving the travel down can make better use of the availible travel and thats about it. Fit them with longer dampers and you can end up with no upwards suspension travel. If you have 11" dampers on the front as well as the back then raised turrets would probably be more suitable.

my front cones are way too short...by about 2 inches  and always go back home with a load bang
need to sort out my front end mefinks, it gets on me nerves hearing the bang as it goes back in
rear end ive got reverse location its brilliant, and silent
you dont hear them in operation
and all at the cost of £0

Reverse location please explain :?
-
fix the spring to the chassis
and let it dislocate at the axle
the spring will naturally go back into seat with the natural movement of the axle
rather than forcing it into place in conventional location
you dont hear my rear springs go in and out
just the fronts
-
you will not be able to fit those cones on the front with those damper mounts. there is no hole for the damper. if you want to use that cone you will need to go down the same route as me and buy twin damper mounts and only mount the outside one.

they aint front cones
so they wont fit
-
RE- reverse location .
Ok I get that bit ,
ok now ,Does the bottom of the spring touch the tyre on full tilt and how have you fixed the spring to the chassis :D
-
no miss by miles
my spring comes about 13inches off the axle on full articulation
to fix the spring to the chassis
ive simply used two sets of h/d rear spring retainers, simple, but it works
-
heres a sneak of the flex on mine
theres still around 4 inches, maybe less left in it there, and i still backed out of it with no diff locks in...which suprised me :-k
there 35 inch tyres so i aint cheating by using small tyres niether

I like the look of them relocation thingies on your axel how high are they from the base plate??
