Title: heater matrix leeking
Post by: gtomo2 on February 11, 2008, 14:07:13
Well found out from were i have been loosing water thanks to the flood in the drivers footwell of me disco. So had a quick look and think the heater metrix needs to come out. so how easy is it to do or is it a pig with dash out job. Also can i bypass the heater water pipes so no water is going through the matrex . I know it means no heat in the disco but its loosing a lot of water carpet is soaking wet from front to back. and i need to keep the disco on the road.
thanks Oh its a 91 200 series.

Dash out job
Yes you can bypass them but make sure you keep the heater pipes to the lpg  ;)

:?   Not sure if it's the same on a 200 but on a 300 it's worth replacing both the matrix inlet pipes aswell , ( the ones that go from the matrix through the bulkhead ) , bit of an anorak type tip but it's an idea to bag & tag all the nuts  , bolts wires etc as you dismantle , I did and still had some left over !  .
Good luck .
