Just come back from the gym after having my induction. And people pay for this!!!!!! I know I was a little unfit…but not that unfit!!! Decided to go three times a week, increasing to five with weight training at a later date. Part of my New Year resolution list. Most people have points, mine also has sub-sections!!!!!
Soon be lifting Mini’s!!!

watch out hi lift, you will have compotition soon

It won't last, you are better off buying a mountain bike, then you can get fit,
and be out in the mud too...............PERFECT :hat:
-
I agree with greeni, I do about 70 miles a week cycling to and from work and I have lost a stone in 8 months with no changes to my drink/eating regime
-
Good on ya, keep it up. It's also my New Year's resolution to lose weight and get fitter. Don't particularly want to get any smaller as such (the brick-outhouse look is often quite handy), just want to lose the man-boobs!

Ditto. the more I eat the more weight I loose  Over xmas I ate silly amounts of meals and size of meals, yet, I am now a kilo lighter! Work that one out!!
And the best bit is my Dad managed to hit 10 stone 3 times in his life for a few days each time and I am just like him, so no worries about gaining weight when I hit 40 etc etc.

I used to love going to the gym, if you have joined recently it will probably be nice and quiet by March.
I prefer lots of cardio as most of the bloked push big weights were morons (used to see them out on the town) but I liked being wiry and being able to run a very long way (chicken)
Listen to your trainer/gym helprs etc, but the thing I found best was moving from machines to "free weights" as you don't use supporting muscles on machines so dont get as strong although the main muscles get big on machines.
Im currently workign on my home gym in one of my outbuildings and cant wait (no pun intended) as I got a huge gym running machine of ebay for peanuts cos its to big for most peoples form rooms. Al my weights came from the car boot sale. Also Im not allowed to start work on my series 3 landy till I finsih the building as its got my office in it!
Good luck

SWMBO was in hospital just before Xmas. Finally got her to weigh herself 3 weeks after she came out: 6 Stone She needs to gain about the same as I need to lose.

Well, yesterday, myself and a mate decided we were going to start our "get fit" regime. So yesterday, we started running! Started off with the walk a bit, run a bit method, which is still amazingly tiring for two chubbers such as us. Was rather achy this morning, not helped by having to concrete a foundation for a garage with a small mixer rather than our tractor powered, fed by a JCB big one. And this afternoon we went out for attempt number 2! Knocked about 7 minutes off yesterdays time by not walking as much, and already it doesn't seem to be tiring us out as much, but our legs weren't very happy as they were still suffering from yesterday. So we're giving ourselves the weekend to let the muscles recover, then back to the running on Monday. Also start my dive training on Wednesday, so I'll be swimming at least once a fortnight too.
