Title: noisy speedo driving me nuts !!

Has anyone suffered from a noisy speedo, sounds like something is grating away in there ! tried thumping it and all sorts, its driving me nuts, ive just got the damn truck running perfectly then this happens its like its laughing at me.....  :evil:

Mine's been like that for about 12 month's  :oops: , must get it changed soon, sometimes it gets carried away with it's self & tell's me that I'm doing 120mph :shock:

SWMBO`s daewoo matiz (horrible little car) does that, every now and then it starts doing it... i plan on taking it out, putting a drop or 3 of oil down, then re-ftting it.... either that or sell the bloomin thing!

Not sure about the Disco but the RRC had a little right angle gearbox ont he top of the driveshaft.  They are made of die-cast metal and once they start to wear they are living on borrowed time.

going to take the instrument binnacle off tomorrow and have a look.

ps RRB, those H3 HID units turned up no problems, will try and fit them this week.

Nice, it should take about an hour as you'll have to mount the ballasts first.  Hope they were worth the wait :wink:
