Post by: benbenukuk on December 09, 2007, 20:20:34
hi, im thinking buying a range rover classic that has a four inch lift by raising the spring seats, what other mods would I need to do to the underbody props ect, and if I didn't do the other mods will this affect steering ect, thanks.  Ben

Well obvioulsy dampers, plus what Ben said, oh and a sick bag because of the horrendous body roll you'll get using standard springs with that much lift.

Generally a lifted set of springs might be plus 25% on the front and perhaps plus 35% on the rear.

For starters the back of the Rangie will no longer benifit from the Boge self-leveler if it's lifted, though you have springs from a Disco already the same springs would be about plus 25% on a Disco, IIRC.

My rangie has 3" on the back and 2" on the front, mind you, I have a gas tank and a huge amount of kit in the boot plus winch on the front. Doesn't roll or corner badly, just leans a bit as they always do. Uprated the shocks and brake lines etc. Props are standard as are links etc
