The box section where the lower tailgate bolts/attaches to?
As there is quite a big rust hole in it and think iot needs welding up.
-
Rear body crossmember. Yours is rusty  join the club
The critical bit is above each body to chassis mount as this is the bit that's most stressed.
-
its just to the side of the body mount.
can this just be plated back over or will it have to be replaced??
would it be an MOT fail if i plate it over and seal it all.
-
Repairing whats there should be fine, though if its too far gone then its easier just to replace the whole section and mounts in one go as a new repair section is about £50.
-
i cant seem to find a repair panel anywhere.
Found the chassis x-member but not the body?
Has anyone got a link.?
Might aswell do it properly now than replacing it again in 12 months
-
How rusty is yours, on mine had been neglected for a while and the only thing linking the chassis to the rear body was gravity  so I hadn't got the option of a simple patch.
I used a repair section like this one, though most large landy spares places stock or can obtain them.

Hi clbarclay,
I think mine is due for replacement also. What procedure did you use/bits to remove/gain access?
Cheers
