Is the bumper specifically for an aircon model installation else the winch will probably foul the front panel.

you might need extended cables to reach your battery don't order them online for £40 i got some battery cable from the local motor factor for about £10
-
i will order a bumper suitable for air con
do i need to but a mounting plate for the winch to sit in
-
if i need extended cable swhich i think i will how or where do you join them or even better has any body got advice on a wiring diagram also best way to route the wiring thanks
-
THAT WINCH BOLTS STRAIGHT INTO THE BUMPER , AND THAT BOLTS STRAIGHT ONTO YOUR DEFENDER, NO SWEAT.
LIKE THE BOYZ SAID, YOU WILL NEED SOME EXTENSION LEADS FOR YOUR BATTERY.
I HAVE SOME OF THIS, I DONT SELL IT, BUT HAVE QUITE A BIT SITTING ABOUT THAT YOU CAN HAVE CHEAP DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT, YOU WILL JUST NEED THE RELEVANT TERMINALS AS I DONT HAVE ANY ANYMORE.
CHEERS

pmed guardian cheers

best to fit a cut off switch on live feed to winch, mine is at front of battery box so can be operated from driving seat
-
You'll also need to eat 3 shredded wheat before you attempt the fitting of the bumper and winch.............or get a mate to help, believe me - it hurts when you drop a winch bumper on your foot when trying to fit it single-handedly

Having no handy m8's I had to use two trolley jacks. They worked well and drank less tea.

i would also suggest fitting a small warning buzzer along with the isolator switch, just pick the live up from the output side of the switch and earth the negative to the battery negative, that way you never leave the isolator switched on
cheers kevin

Think you will also need a decent digital camera!!!
So you can show us all in stages how you did it so I dont have to ask again in a few months
-
fancy giving me a hand mutz possibly in the new year when bumper arrives
-
Give us a call in the new year, will see how far im getting with striping my 90.
-
Let us know how you get on when it's fitted as i'm also thinking about getting the guardian winch bumper and champ winch for my 110.
-
cant beat guardian on service so far i will get the winch bumper after xmas i hope not before
the winch is here on monday i will give a quick review if you like
i have looked a various winch bumpers over the last 6 months and guardian looks as if they will take some beating
also the main guardian man is a poster on the forum
so cant be bad :D :D :D
-
I know what you mean ,think he lives not far from me so i might pick one up in the new year.
Have been told that the champ winch is a good un apart from the solenoids they use are cheap .Have been told when that breaks to fit another make ,can't think of the name at the moment though.
Make sure you post some pics when its fitted so i can ave a look.
