Title: key fob alarm

i want to get another key fob alarm remote for my grand cherokee, but how to i get it calibrate with my cherry?

there must be a simple way to do this but ive no idea  :?

i believe you must have it programed at the main dealer at a cost of 30 mins labour, plus the key fob cost obviously.

I ordered a spare key and fob at our local dealer.
They didnt have one in stock and said it would be imported, maybe take 3 weeks or so. Guesstimate cost was £100ish

After 6 weeks or so I called in as I was passing to be told they had replaced all the spare parts dept staff due to "irregularities", and they were sorry for the delay but the new team would sort it for me.... gave them the reg number again and left them to it. It's now 3 or 4 months later, and I have still not heard from them.

As long as I don't lose my one and only key & fob I have saved £100, and the dealer posssibly has something on his shelf that he has no chance of ever selling.

All I can say is the service is non-existant !  

I know it's not a massive order to a main dealer, but £100 for a key is plenty to pay for something I hope never to need to use.

 If I ordered a new car would they be so damned slow to respond ?

Why not try eBay, there are usually plenty about in the UK & loads in the USA.
Just check the back of your fob to get the right part number as there are a few different ones depending on the model / age.

Just get it programmed by the dealers, a damn site cheaper for a back up  :wink:

i know i can get 1 from ebay buts its the programming side thats the trouble

if i disconect the battery on my grand cherokee do i have to reprogramme my remotes?
