My 110 is fitted with 33x12.5/15 Goodyear Wrangler MTR tyres on 15 inch white eight spokes. I want to take these off as I really don't need or want tyres that are this big and aggressive.
I'll probably go for an AT type tyre in either 265/75 or 235/85 but I can't decide which rims to go for or what colour they should be. I've narrowed my choice down to those listed above and, whilst I appreciate that this is pretty subjective, I'd be interested in folks opinions. It'd be nice to see some pictures of 110's fitted with any of these wheels too.
* Disco steels - I have heard these called the strongest wheels that Land Rover have ever made. On the other hand, I've also heard it said that they aren't rated for a fully laden 110, which might technically cause a problem with insurers if nothing else. Anybody got any info?
** Wolf rims - I might have a problem with stud length with these, although the old forward control rims might be a good substitute if I can find any.

I think it'd look good with either black modulars or wolf rims  8)
-
black mods for me mate 8) 8) had them on my last 110 that was white and IMO it looked mint:D
-
Yeah, not too keen on black. I did like the idea originally but the spare, which I had to fit recently is black (at the moment) and now that I've seen it I've gone off it. I'm currently repainting all of the wheels white, one at a time, and it does look quite smart like that.

What's wrong with black rims on a white 110? Subjective I know but I prefer black to white...sorry best wheel picture I have at present and thick with fog here so can't take another
-
White will just dis-colour eventually wouldn't it... ?
Personally I think black mods would look well good, just like some of the pictures shown above.
-
Black mods for me also.
-
black mods...
-
yep haz to b black mods.

Black 8 spokes, only cuz that what I got :D I give them a coat of black waxoyl and let them stay grubby (but protected) anyway.
On a side note, the optical illusion of light reflection makes white wheels look bigger to the human eye than their black counterparts so appear to fill arches better.

my old 110 had disco steelies in silver and they did seem vey strong now you come to mention. i gave it some abuse and never bent one or damaged them. got mods on me current 90 and i think every one has a bend in!!! might invest in some more disco steelies.

Remember that Disco steels don't have the offset of 8 spokes so you might lose some turning circle...
My vote would prob be black mods as well... 8)

Black Nato rims :D

Go for black wheels for that meaner look
-
Thanks for all the replys, folks. It seems like there's a definite black wheel fetish going on here :) I agree that they do look mean but part of the problem for me is that, because of my work, I deliberately don't want the mean look.
I'll definitely look into the Wolf rims if they're availble that cheaply, although I don't want to have to start changing wheel studs to make them fit. Failing that, I still can't decide. Perhaps I need to play with Photoshop and do some mock-ups :)
-
Money no object, Wolf rims, they look good and are bombproof.
Black modulars with a silver rim look nice too, but I remember reading something about them not being as strong as 8-spokes :? which I'm not too keen on.
Disco steels might be the narrowest of your options too, but I've got 4 good ones if you're interested.
-
After much deliberation, I've decided to go for Disco steels, although I'll paint them white, which I hope will look nicely different :)
I would have gone for the Wolf rims but, as I suspected, when I tried one the studs really weren't long enough. Ho hum.
RRB, I would be interested in your rims but you're a bit far from me to make it worthwhile unfortunately. I've just bought two on ebay for about £11.00 that are only 10 miles away. If I can find another three like that I'll be laughing :)
