as the title says, just had a "coming together" with a merc vito van. mucky road surface outside a farm. bent my bumper and smashed my headlamp and indicator. totally redesigned his merc and it bled antifreeze. THANK GOD FOR LANDROVERS.

i had a similar incident with a woman going up my ass with a vauxhall corsa i felt a shunt to the rear of my car and a massive bang little to find a vauxhall corsa with my tow bar through its radiator and smashed up the rest of the front end, her car was later found to be a write off with no damage to mine she offered me some money for my time so i took £100 off her and walked away with nothing more than a small blemish on my rear bumper that t-cutted out and a smile on my face
man i love driving a tank

Hope you realise that the farmer is duty bound to keep the road surface clear of muck.
I think you can claim on his public liability insurance for any damage .
-
hello dave, i notified the police about the state of the road and they told me they have given him a warning already. :(bigangry):
-
A warning doesn't help you though.
-
Glad you are ok fella...
That bullbar helped I guess
-
hello steve, my daughter was a little shaken but otherwise ok. bullbar looks a little sad. nothing that can't be fixed with a big hammer. hopefully see you out and about again soon.
-
Hi glad to hear you're ok, I got hit a few months back by a Merc totaled his front end, and cost me an absolute fortune too repair mine , well 50p actually he's split the tennis ball I used as a tow ball cover :D
-
Unfortunatley it's the silly season for farms at the mo. Alot of the crops have been harvested and now the fields are being ploughed and planted ready for next year.
It's got to be done before the rain comes and makes the ground unworkable. While some farmers are more considerate than others, cleaning the roads is very low on the list of priorites.
-
We also flattened a small road sign lamp post at 40mph and just had to have a new bonnet and light, thats all! That was without a bullbar, know we have one fitted
-
Glad you're OK the roads are really crap round here aren't thet just took the 110 to Welshpool and there's mud and rubbish everywhere.
-
Rich recently had a merc C class thing go in to the back of the disco.. the merc badge on the bumper is just the right height to hit the tow ball... she totaled the front of the car and admitted her fault she wasnt paying attention.. so off rich went with a little mark on the ball cover!

This is what happens when a group of "Ravers" let the cattle out for fun & you meet one on an unlit lane at 30 MPH. :(
Now fully rebuilt with a 300 Series front end. :D

wet road disco on all terains yellow vw polo decides to slam on the anchors took the rear farside off the vw, bent bullbar slightly and smeared a sticker.
-
Got rear ended a while back by a Volvo s40 I stopped at lights he didn't untill he went under the back of the Disco,
I have a Southdown Tank Guard and a DiscoParts Rear bumper with a Nato hook mounted on bumper.
The Nato hook smashed his rad and there was a lovely twin groove up the bonnet where the tank guard left it's mark. Just left some paint marks on my Discovery.
Turned out to be a Copper (off duty) on the phone to his girlfriend, I called the cops but they just stuck together and wouldn't arrest him as I asked for driving without due care and attention.
